COVID-19 CORONAVIRUS EVENT UPDATE:

3/28/2020

Hopefully everyone is keeping safe and staying inside as much as possible (which gets harder as time goes on). We know these times are trying but there is relief.

To all essential workers (Health Care/ Law Enforcement / Grocery Store Employees / Public Safety / Military / Truck Drivers, and everyone else) .we want to say THANK YOU for doing so much when we ALL need your services. Your service is greatly appreciated!

In regards to the InSANDity event - We are looking to move the race back 2-4 weeks depending on what happens with the spread or containment of the coronavirus.

With the new rules in place of stay at home and self quarantine we are hopeful that El Paso will be able to massively decrease the rate of infection and this virus will be eradicated enough so that we can re-schedule InSANDity.

We will all have to resume our lives at some point but we MUST make sure it is safe enough to do so.

We will be monitoring the situation and wait for recommendations by the CDC and El Paso County officials. We will let everyone know via email, text and push notifications (if you’ve downloaded the app).

If this event gets pushed out too far or you cannot make it then you can always obtain a refund - No questions asked. As this is a charity event for local El Paso kids we hope you still want to attend but understand if you can't. Stay safe El Paso.

The event will have to be moved based on the current situation of the stay at home order issued by EL Paso County on March 23rd.

At present we have 168 participants only that are spread out every 30 minutes from 8am to 12pm so the amount of concentration should be decreased enough when the stay at home order is lifted. We are expecting the CDC guidelines to go back to the 50 people recommendation as the coronavirus slowly becomes contained. This might be in 2 weeks or 2 months as no one can say for sure. What IS for sure is that when the stay at home order is lifted people will need something to do (as long as it is safe!) Here are the numbers for the event at present:

8:00am: 38 runners

8:30am: 11 runners

9:00am: 37 runners

9:30am: 10 runners

10:00am: 40 runners (FULL)

10:30am: 26 runners

11:00am: 0 runners

11:30am: 6 runners

As this will be OUTSIDE spread out over MILES of space, we feel there would be a much lessened chance of cross contamination when the stay at home order is lifted and guidance is sent out from the CDC and El Paso County.

We continue to monitor the situation and will update everyone via email, text message and app push notifications.
